  Production Planner / Customer Service Representative

  The Production Planner/Customer Service Representative is responsible for managing the customer experience
from the accepting of the customer order to providing the product to the customer. This includes creating
production schedules, identifying the materials required, obtaining those materials and fulfillment of those orders.
This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager.
This position will be a fulltime regular position, Monday – Friday, with overtime as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in accounting, business, or related field, or equivalent experience in management, supply
    chain or manufacturing experience
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Knowledge of production planning process such as Master Production Scheduling (MPS) Material
  • Experience in resource planning (MRP) in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in working with concise numbers such as prices, quantities, inventories, lead time, etc.
  • Experience in spreadsheets in the planning process
  • Experience with various software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) for use of
    data gathering, analysis and reports and Enterprise Resource Planning software, M1
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience in principles and methods of moving goods by air, rail, sea or road
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for
    maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods

  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple processes and projects

Job Responsibilities:

Technical Knowledge:

  • Provide accurate description of requested materials to suppliers
  • Provide regular customer contact to accept orders and communicate order status via electronic means
  • Entry of sales orders into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) M1 system
  • Review orders for proper information including purchasing price, lead-times and ordered part revision
  • Creation of production schedules based on sales order demands including creation of work orders
  • Development of material requirements, including quality requirements, based on schedules and lead times
  • Create purchase orders for materials and communicates with suppliers on needs
  • Work with engineering to set up bill of materials and resource usages that drive part standard costs
  • Work consistently with prices, quantities, inventories, lead time, etc. and utilize mathematical and
    spreadsheet skills in planning process
  • Assist in quality problem solution with suppliers

Project Management and Planning:

  • Develop time management skills, with an ability to balance demand among various projects
  • Conduct business with ethics and integrity
  • Coordinate production priority for operations to complete activity
  • Manage accounting transactions sales order invoicing and accounts receivable
  • Coordinate inventory management activities and cycle counts

Continuous Improvement:

  • Gain an adequate knowledge of the various products in the company portfolio and have a commitment to
    delivering quality products to our customers
  • Make recommendations to improve on process and planning as necessary
  • Exhibits desire for continuous education and training

Documentation:

  •  Follow directions and procedures
  • Gain and understanding of good manufacturing and documentation practices (GMP/GDP)
  • Accurate description of the requested materials
  • Timely supply of materials
